RESCUED AND PROTECTED FROM EVIL PRESSURES

A trap is something that is put in place in order to hinder the path of the one who has to go through a certain place. A trap’s aim is to ensure that there is no progress beyond that point a trap has been placed.

When a trap is put in place you can fall a million times and keep starting from scratch but every time you get to that spot where a trap has been placed for you, you keep falling or you are hindered always.

The Most High God, the One who keeps us in His shelter, enlightened the words of a psalmist and said, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].” When we are in the shelter of God, we cannot be moved during times of the storm. Anxiety activates a state of ignorance to what God has spoken to us about. Anxiety makes us forget the most powerful and live promises over our lives. The promises over our lives are alive and they are active. They continue to work because they are the Word of God. This Word written by the psalmist says, those who are in the secret place will remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty. Your mind is protected by the promise in the times of the storms. The inclination and the character of your mind cannot be disturbed by the pressure of the storm because you are under the shadow of the Almighty God.

In this instance, anxiety can become a trap in your life, a trap triggered every time you go through pressures of life. Once anxiety kicks in, its aim is to blind you from the promise upon your life. Always remember that the Word of God is alive. The promise is alive. What protects your mind is alive. Refuse for anxiety to blind the promise over your life. This means, refuse that your behaviour and fear take away the promise of God in your life.

The children of Israel did not enter their promise because they were blinded. They were blinded by their hardened hearts. What is a hardened heart? A heart that is wounded. A heart that is full of pain. A heart that needs healing. There’s a veil caused by your wounds that can make you see the opposite of God’s plan and make you think you are still walking towards the right direction. The children of Israel were afraid of God’s voice because of this same veil. This same veil can still be around us in these times. Because of the challenges we have gone through, we still become afraid to enter God’s presence because of hardened hearts. Others may say they enter easily in the presence of God, but when there’s a wounded area in your life you end up not prospering in that particular area because the wound was not properly cleaned or even detected. Proverbs 25:2 on this hyperlink helps us understand that when there’s a hidden matter in your life, visit the hiding place of God’s place of glory. Right there you will find your answers. If a heart is hardened by a hidden matter, you will see it by losing appetite to enter the hiding place of glory. Apostle Paul in the bible says we have the Holy Spirit who gives us confidence and boldness to enter God’s presence. People’s minds can still be hardened and still not understand the truth but always know that turning to the Lord will result in the veil being taken away so you can mine out a deeper meaning of things hidden in the place of God’s glory. For the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! This is the Amplified version. See this link for NLT (Psalm 91:1-3) version. It is easy to proclaim how much we trust God and how He alone is our refuge and when storms come we see plan Bs and Cs coming out of our quiver because we think God will not come through for us. Always remember that the promises of God upon our lives are alive, which are the promises in the Word of God. The promise will fight through for us, we just have to do our part. We must do what is required for us by the Word of God and the principles of God.

“For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.” As I looked at this verse, I picked up four words. Rescue, trap, protect and disease. These words make me understand that where there is a trap we don’t just need to be rescued from the trap, we also need to be protected from the purpose or the goal of the trap. The trap may have been to hinder you from moving forward. The trap may have been to put a limitation in your life but it is important to understand what poison is contained by the trap. If you touch A, you will become sick. If you touch B, you will die. If you complete your education, you will be more educated than my children and you will own big businesses. The trap or the limitation in these instances are A, B and education. The aim or purpose of the trap is sickness, death and stagnation. What this verse is telling us is that God’s promise is to rescue us from the traps and limitations put around us and He will also protect us from the aim of the limitation. We must trust Him as our only God, our place of safety.

Trusting God is safety for those who love Him. The Word of God tells us in Psalm 25:3 that no one that trusts in Him will ever be disgraced. He will show us the right path and He will point out the road we should follow. Even the road that is full of traps and evil seeds of the enemy, we will walk through it because that same road is the road that is full of good seeds for us. We will not take a detour and miss our promises. He will remove the traps for us. If they said you will never be successful in business and they put traps and evil seeds on your path. He will show you the right path and make that path straight for you by removing what does not belong there. Remember that His Word according to Hebrews 4:12 sees, separates and knows. You may not know and see but you are walking on the promise and you are protected. Lord we thank you for divine protection.
