In the midst of storms, we tend to forget the works of the cross. Jesus is not on and off in our lives or even in and out of our lives. In the midst of the storms, we tend to go back to the egypt mentality and start making requests that imply or suggest that Christ should die for us again. Of course when we make these requests, we’re unaware of these insinuations as we have not fully understood the finished work of the cross. But Jesus already died and was resurrected. He already paid the price for sickness, for poverty, for curses that were upon us. All these things were nailed on the cross with Him.
Colossians 2 TPT
He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.
The cloud hanging upon our lives NOW is that of abundant blessings and eternal life. In the midst of the storms, in times of pain our minds tend to go back to primitive ways. Times of old. Places of comfort. Places familiarity. Even if those places were worse off than the times of now. The mind loves to escape to familiarity. The mind loves to carry unnecessary weight. These are burdens that have already been catered for. Jesus already dealt with these things but an unregenerated mind still loves to carry them.
As an Intercessors, stand in the gap knowing who you are. Allow your mind to be continuously transformed. You are one with Jesus, what you speak represents Him. You are His representative in this world. He is in you. Therefore, you bring hope to those you pray for. When they see you, when they hear your voice – they should see and hear Him in you.
Colossians 1 KJV
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1 TPT
Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!
Their hope is healing. Their expectation is breakthrough. They long for peace. They got lost on the way to their destiny – direct them to the Way. It is all found in you as a representative of Christ Jesus. You are packaged to manifest the mystery He has in you to everyone whom you pray for. Healing, peace, love, patience etc are all found in you. What is in you is a package enough to impact nations. What is in you is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. What is in you does not stop working, it’s forever active and ready to do superabundantly beyond the walls of your mind. It can shake nations and it changes lives. As an Intercessors, may you be aware of who you are as you decide to avail yourself for God to pray through you with groanings – on behalf of his precious souls.
Romans 8:26 TPT
And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
