The zeal according to knowledge

Teach the knowledge that brought you to visions and encounters with God not the visions and encounters. As an intercessor, when you’re given an opportunity to teach other intercessors, direct God’s people to what activated your spiritual senses to see, hear, feel, taste and smell in the spiritual realm. What heightened your spiritual discernment will also heighten theirs.

“Faith comes by hearing.” (Romans 10:17a) As you walk with the people God has entrusted to you, you need to ensure that they hear things that will elevate their faith. Our faith is linked to what you hear. As a leader, when you talk to the people who walk with you about yourself a lot, their faith in you increases every time you speak about yourself. If you keep on talking about your experiences, their faith in your experiences increases. We must always guard our hearts and always refer back to the assignment we received when God entrusted His souls to us. What did He say? Depending on Our personal assignments, He could have said different things. These assignments always tell us to connect His people to Him. Therefore what we teach should not solely be about the experiences we encountered to get to where we are but we should teach more about God who got us to where we are.

The people of God should hear more about God so they can have their own encounters that will make them experience God. “Hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17b) The people of God should hear more of the Word of God than our experiences. The Word of God is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our path. (Psalm 119:105) As we share the Word of God and help them on how to use it, they will encounter God.

If we keep the Word of God from His people we exalt ourselves above the knowledge of God. We are not the light more than Jesus is the light even though we are still the light of the world. Psalm 119:130 says “The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”

When start talking more about ourselves or more about our experiences we impart a zeal that is not aligned to what God wants. Paul was praying for the Israelites in Romans 10:1-3 that they may have the zeal that is according to knowledge which is knowing God according to experience. May the Lord teach us and guide us as we walk with His people.

Romans 10:1-3

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
